I thought I’d take some time out today to tell you how it really is in property investing. If you’re an avid follower of everything property like me then you’ll regularly read about how so and so bought this ramshackle property for £50k, spent £10k on it and in 3 months they’re financially free. Well ok that may be a bit of an exaggeration but really?!?!

I’m sure some people have had huge success and very quickly but in reality, most of the time it’s not that simple. I made the decision that I would invest heavily in my education so as to reduce the risk of making a costly mistake. If you buy the wrong property it could be a mistake that you end up paying for for the rest of your life if you’re not careful. So I got a mentor, went on lots of excellent training courses and now deliver training and mentor myself I’m so passionate about it.

Even with all of that though, it’s not been, and still isn’t, plain sailing. Just in the last month alone I’ve had a property denied planning permission (we’re appealing and I’ve got my fingers and toes crossed!), and I’ve had someone I trusted on my power team let me down to the degree of costing me 3 weeks’ delay on a refurb. Do you know what though, because I’ve got a mentor and I’ve had an exceptional education (which I will never stop investing in) then I know it will always be alright in the end. That’s because there’s always a plan B. There’s always an exit strategy. So, if everything doesn’t go to plan, the worst case scenario is never going to be that bad. :o)

Look out for my next blog next week where I’ll give you a full update on my current projects.
